When ” Common ” Becomes ” Normal”, Beware

It is common nowadays for teens to be described as “anxious” “depressed” and to have trouble focusing or sleeping.

It is common for them to be diagnosed with some mental illness and to be prescribed meds or placed in clinical treatment… in some communities it is almost in vogue to have your kid in therapy.

It is common for them to have toddler style breakdowns and meltdowns as they crumble under the pressure of worry about grades, exams, test scores or with fears of missing out on some amazing social event that everyone will be at except them…

It has become so common that it is now considered normal.
